Nickey Line view on the embankment next to Queensway Arch, Hemel Hempstead

Welcome to Friends of the Nickey Line

Approximately 7 miles long, the Nickey Line footpath and cycle way in Hertfordshire is a former railway line (the Harpenden to Hemel Hempstead Railway) which provides a trail for cyclists and walkers.

The Nickey Line still links Harpenden, Redbourn and Hemel Hempstead but is used now by railway history enthusiasts, walkers and cyclists from many parts of the country.

Read about its historywildlife and see the maps

Join us below and we shall send you the great new map guide by return post.
